Module title and summary | Social Realities of Childhood Upon successful completion of this module, consistent of three distinctive lectures/seminars, students are able to explain basic epistemic concepts in the sociology of childhood, pedagogy and social pedagogy, and apply concepts in social constructivist understanding of childhood, generational order, agency in childhood sociology; students can deliberate socio-historic and cultural contexts of childhood(s), reflect on pedagogical child-adult relationships; they can delineate the development of pedagogical and social welfare institutions in childhood and explain specific pedagogical concepts, discuss their implementation and implications for children. Students are familiar with key paradigms in childhood studies and contribute to raising epistemic issues, especially with regard to the theory-practice relationship. | ||||
